Whitesnake, salah satu grup rock legendaris asal North Yorkshire Inggris yang masih eksis sampai saat ini. Selain di Whitesnake, Coverdale juga pernah bergabung di Deep Purple, juga pernah duet bareng gitaris Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page.

Salah satu single terpopuler Whitesnake adalah IS THIS LOVE. Diambil dari album Whitesnake yang dirilis pada 7 April 1987. Berhasil menduduki posisi ke-9 di UK Singles Chart, dan di posisi ke-2 di US Singles Chart.

IS THIS LOVE, yang ditulis oleh vokalis David Coverdale dan Gitaris John Sykes ini pernah dikabarkan akan dinyanyikan oleh Tina Turner.

Dalam video klip IS THIS LOVE, Whitesnake menggandeng artis dan foto model Tawny Kitaen, yang nantinya menjadi istri David Coverdale.
